City Government Web Conferencing Cost

It seems businesses aren't the only ones taking advantage of the benefits that web conferencing can offer. In fact, various avenues in the real world are quickly adopting web conferencing tools into their communications and collaboration systems in order to increase cohesion and maintain some semblance of constancy in these widely changing times. Such avenues include city governments.

In this article, you will learn about how city governments worldwide are using web conferencing as a better, more efficient means of dispersing information, policies, and the like.

The Chaoyang District Government

The Chaoyang District Government in China is one of the four organizations responsible for soliciting landscape design schemes for the Olympic Forest Park and the Central Zone for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. This city government is the largest of eight nearby counties and districts in the region. Numerous corporations, embassies, and major stadiums are located in Chaoyang's region and they are all material for the coordination of the 2008 Olympics Games.

The departments and branches of the City Government are dispersed throughout a wide geographic area. And as such, effective communication between branches and departments can be very difficult. In order to boost working efficiency, improve collaboration, and augment communication within the city government's offices, software tools, such as web conferencing systems were used.

"We now have a higher working efficiency in routine communications, and lower travel costs with less time consumption, plus a closer working relationship with the local community," says Operations Manager at Chaoyang District City Government.

San Antonio City Government

As part of San Antonio City Government's "Smart City" project, new applications and web conferencing solutions. The city government wanted collaborative two-way interactive voice, video, and data communication between educational, medical, governmental and research facilities and they found their answer in web conferencing. The San Antonio City Government is turning to web conferencing solutions for four key components of its next-generation broadband Intranet. These components include distance learning through public libraries, Learning and Literacy courses at community centers, telemedicine at local clinics, and video web conferencing in the Police Department.

Kentucky CenterNet City Government Project

Integrated management tools in web conferencing minimize the demand for hands-on support while at the same time simplifying the task of network monitoring. The Kentucky CenterNet City Government Project will provide the residents, organizations, communities, and businesses of Southern and Eastern Kentucky with an efficient method for obtaining information and communicating with each other. The technology centers, located in forty rural counties, connect the region as never before.

"The uses for the network are virtually unlimited," said Hilda Gay Legg, Executive Director and CEO of the Center. "Through CenterNet we can truly begin to improve economic development in Southern and Eastern Kentucky."
