Summary: Used for the Holidays
Comment: I bought this rug steam cleaner as a Xmas gift to myself. I read though the entire instruction booklet. In summary, I really liked this machine. My main concern was whether it would be too hard to physically handle. I was pleasantly surprised that it performed with little effort. The most difficult challenge was having to periodically change the dirty water container, and that was not bad at all! I got a lot of really bad stains out of the rug. It was pretty easy to operate. After a month of having used the steam rug cleaner, some of the stains have semi surfaced, but I noticed the same thing happened when the professional service came last year and cleaned it. Since I paid $150 for the steam cleaner on Amazon, I already got my money's worth. It typically costs me around $150 to have a reputable company come in and clean the same area. I definitely would recommend this product. I am very satisfied.

Summary: HOOVER F5914 STEAMVAC
Comment: This machine is easy to use, does the job quickly, and is easy to clean after use. We bought it to clean the carpet in our house after being soiled by two large dogs. The first use we could see no more "marks" on the carpet left by the dogs. In fact after three years of use the carpet looked new again. We didn't even pre-treat the carpet. The weight is much lighter than the ones you can rent and available in a moments notice.

Summary: So good I bought another one as a gift
Comment: I have had my carpet cleaner for over a year and was so pleased with how well it works, that I bought one for my mother-in-law who had just gotten a new puppy. It does a very good job cleaning the carpets and is extremely easy to operate. I highly recommend it to anyone for maintaining their carpets.

Comment: I have 2 dogs and 3 kids. I really need my own carpet machine. I had the old Hoover model for 13 years before it started to wear out. That's a good record! I decided to get this newer model. The new attachments are a little harder to use, but well worth the effort! This thing cleans like a dream!!

Summary: Great cleaner for the price
Comment: We just got this machine last week and could not be more pleased. I was able to clean 2 large rooms in less than an hour and a half and they were dry within 4 hours. It is very easy to assemble and to move around (I am 7 months pregnant) and even to switch from the stair/upholstery attachment to the regular cleaner. I'm not convinced that the clean surge feature actually does anything special, but between using that and pre-treating the worst spots, our floors look great!
My only complaints:
* The cleaner that comes with the machine smells VERY strong and "chemically". I used it at half strength and still could smell it for hours. I would recommend getting a "free" cleaner to use, especially if you have kids or allergies/asthma.
* The worst spots on your floor will need to be pre-treated in order to get them out. I just sprayed Resolve before I started a room and then they came right up when I went over them with the Hoover.
* The power cord is a little short. I had to keep switching between outlets to get it to reach.
Overall, we are VERY pleased with how well this worked for the price of it. Don't waste your money on a more expensive machine - I highly recommend this one!
