Customer Rating: Summary: one of the best Jon Pertwee stories! Comment: The Sea devils is definitely one of the best jon stories. It has all the right and essential ingredients-good monsters, good acting and great cliff hangers. Jon Pertwee is on fine form as the Doctor, giving a cool and calculating performance as the Doc. And Roger Delgado gives one of his best performances too. Another thing about this story is the great sound track. creepy and modern at the same time. this is one of the few doctor who stories with real menace and tension. great story.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Classic Comment: A brilliant master piece from the 1970's. The Sea Devils is a typical Doctor Who story and not only has a frightening new monster but also has a long interesting plot that does not switch off from the main story line (witch also includes The Master in his good old sly, evil form.) What more could you want?!
Customer Rating: Summary: Low 5 / High 4 Comment: This one's on the brink of 5 stars. A perfect example of Doctor Who.
Some highlights include the Master watching the Clangers, the cliffhangers and the sword fight.
A couple of downers are that the sea devils are too weak and should not be killed by bullets. Another is that the incidental music can get on your nerves after six episodes. It actually sounds like the sea, but when this episode's released on dvd, which i'm surely it will be soon, it would be nice to have an alternative music score.
Otherwise a brilliant piece of televsion that could not be made with the modern day's perfect effects and pace.
Customer Rating: Summary: Doctor Who: The Sea Devils review by Benjamin Wood Comment: An almost excellent doctor who episode. I have watched this episode from being a young lad and i still enjoy it to this day.The music is particulary spooky and eiree probably because it's composed by the BBC radiophoinic workshop. As is was saying a fantastic episode and one of the late Jon Pertwee's best adventures.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth Seeing just for the lovely Katy Manning Comment: Yes, the main reason why I like this story is because Katy Manning was lovely in this. Overall though, its not too bad and quite enjoyable at times with some good cliffhangers at end of episodes. Obviously dated, but I am sure die hard Dr Who fans will enjoy this. The Sea Devils in rubber suits and string vests look a little amateurish at times, but the voices are quite good. The only problem though was the music supplied by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop grates. Its awful at times which is a shame. Nevertheless, dont let that put you off, for there is much to enjoy here.
